Spend Black Friday with Pint Defiance!

on Fri, 11/22/2013 - 02:57

Shopping is dangerous on Black Friday. You run the risk of being trampled, gouged, poked, maimed, and shoved. Personally, we at Pint Defiance don’t get it, which is why we are hosting our own Black Friday celebration to serve as a refuge from the crowds. We’ll have the seasonally appropriate Elysian Men’s Room Black and Deschutes Abyss on draft for pints and growler fills. And we’ll have bottles of the highly sought-after Goose Island Bourbon County.

You can even get a head start on your Christmas shopping. We have awesome shirts and beer glasses, growlers and gift certificates.

Barry goes to Sierra Nevada Beer Camp 2013.

on Tue, 11/12/2013 - 00:46

Last week I had the honor of attending Sierra Nevada Beer Camp. Beer Camp is basically the “Golden Ticket” brewery tour to trump all other brewery tours! The brewery designed this program as a way to build & strengthen relationships with others in the beer community.  We were given access to all facets of their operation; Production, packaging, warehousing, research & development, pilot programs, cellars, sustainability programs, hop farm, hop and grain storage, yeast lab, quality assurance, sensory lab, brewpub, and more.

Brewer's Night with Laurelwood Brewing, Wednesday, Nov. 13th, 5p to 7p

on Wed, 11/06/2013 - 23:45

Our next installment in our unlimited series of Brewer’s Nights continues with that ubiquitous Portland brewery, Laurelwood. Founded in 2001, they almost immediately began winning awards with their great brews. Seeing an exponential growth during the “oughts,” the humble brewery has grown to a 15,000bbl business, but has never lost sight of their focus on community and quality.

Join us on Wednesday, Nov. 13th, from 5pm to 7pm as we host Laurelwood for a night of great beer, great fun, and awesome giveaways. On draft, we’ll have Workhorse IPA, Free Range Red, Tree Hugger Porter, Vinter

Pumpkin Beer Extravaganza and Grown-Up Trick-or-Treat, Oct. 30th & 31st

on Fri, 10/25/2013 - 03:03

Halloween has become overtaken by pint-sized pirates and childish ghouls for too long, and we aim to do something about it—with a 2-day pumpkin beer extravaganza for grown-ups only.

Starting Wednesday, Oct. 30th, at 3pm we will be tapping up a selection of some of the season’s most popular pumpkin beers for pint and growler fills.

The main festivities begin on Ol’ Hallows-Eve, Thursday the 31st, at 5pm, where the first 50 customers to order a pumpkin beer get a Trick-or-Treat bag filled with awesome treats and beer schwag (1 per person). On tap while it lasts will be a super-rare Brandy
